Re-fuelling

Today I refuelled Octavia for the first time since I've been living aboard - This sounds slack but a tankful can last around 6 months on a narrowboat. I felt quite proud of her; like you might feel the first time your child emerges from the dentist unscathed.

This great working brute of a boat putters along the canals selling coal, gas, diesel and logs - proper old fashioned. (it also sucks poo out of all the toilets, but we won't mention that because it's disgusting)



I love the paintwork: the scalloping along the edges and the little red details on white.

And it was a young couple at the tiller, how romantic.
