My Dad bought a skeleton from a car boot sale, would you believe it? I only ever find old tins and shoes. Anyway, I immediately nabbed it and today I've been giving the skull a good look over whilst fondling my own cranium. I love the word 'skull' and other related words, especially 'mandible'.
Our skulls are thicker at the front and back, good to know.
The amount of textures and joins over the whole skull is incredible. I like the radial line that runs from the eyebrow around the back of the ear, think of that next time you tuck your hair behind your ears. I think I can feel the little wiggly join at the far outside of my eyebrow.
I happen to know the joins are actually called sutures, another good word.
